Glossop and District Round Table is continuing to appeal for kind-hearted donations so they can help worthy local causes in the run-up to Christmas.
The not-for-profit organisation had to cancel Glossop's annual big bonfire and firework display this year due to coronavirus - the first time in over 40 years it hasn't gone ahead.
But it set up a JustGiving page as a way of ensuring groups in Glossopdale which rely on the donations the community event normally raises don't lose out in the midst of the pandemic.
With funds raised so far, the Round Table made a £250 donation on Thursday (10 December) to Glossopdale Foodbank to spend at Tesco.
Almost £1,000 of the £2,500 target has been achieved. If you would like to donate towards the Round Table's efforts to support the local community, visit https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/glossopanddistrict-roundtable710.
