A series of events have been planned as part of a consultation for residents of Whaley Bridge to view a Draft Neighbourhood Plan.
The Vision4Whaley steering group has now finished the final draft of the plan and is holding a final public consultation to give the community a chance to see the document and suggest any amendments before it's submitted to High Peak Borough Council.
The six-week consultation will start on Friday 20 May and end on Saturday 2 July.
It is seen as a very important step towards ensuring the Neighbourhood Plan reflects the views of the community.
The steering group is holding the following events where the public can come along and have their say:
- FAB market at the Transhipment Warehouse, Whaley Bridge. Saturday 11 June 10am to 2pm.
- The Mechanic's Institute, Whaley Bridge. Monday 13 June 2pm to 7pm.
- Furness Vale Community Centre. Tuesday 14 June 2pm to 4pm.
- Footsteps, Whaley Bridge. Thursday afternoons 16, 23 and 30 June 2pm to 3.30pm.
The Draft Neighbourhood Plan will also be available to view online at www.vision4whaley.org.uk
The Neighbourhood Plan gives local residents the opportunity to have a say in shaping the future of housing, traffic, use of green space and leisure and tourism across Whaley Bridge, Furness Vale, Taxal and Fernilee.
The Plan will be in place until at least 2032.
