A man has been arrested in connection with a spate of recent thefts from motor vehicles in the Glossop area.
Glossop Police Safer Neighbourhood Team issued an update saying that the latest incident happened on Sunday (12 December), when two men were disturbed illegally entering a vehicle on Brendon Close in Simmondley between midnight and 12.30am.
Although they said one man is currently in custody under investigation, they still want to "obtain as much information as possible".
Anyone with information about the latest Simmondley incident or CCTV which you think may assist with enquiries is asked to call 101 or get in touch with police online at www.derbyshire.police.uk, quoting occurrence number 21000721432.
Officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team went out with the High Peak Police Cadets around the Simmondley area posting leaflets about vehicle crime prevention, whilst also checking that vehicles didn't have any valuables on display or left insecure.
In less than an hour, 10 vehicles in a small area were found to be insecure which has recently been the main method offenders have been using to gain entry.
Police are reminding people to double check that their vehicles are locked and that valuables are either removed or hidden out of sight.
