James McKenna broke court orders and continued to harass an individual in Glossop, Stockport magistrates heard.
The court heard the 32-year-old had been issued with a restraining order by Shropshire magistrates back in July 2017.
He had initially denied two charges of harassment relating to incidents between July and September last year and making unwanted phone calls and sending texts. However, he later changed his plea to guilty.
The court ordered him to carry out 50 hours unpaid work, plus ordered him to pay £85 court costs and a £95 victim surcharge.
He was also issued with a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement, meaning he must attend appointments when instructed to do so by an officer.
His address was given as Kingfisher Drive, Rochdale.
