Changes are being made at Manor House Surgery in Glossop and Hadfield that look set to benefit patients.
From Friday 26 November, the two surgeries - that have always been run separately in the past - will merge to become one surgery.
The practice says the move will increase continuity of care and provide increased flexibility.
There are no changes to personnel and the move will mean patients are able to book appointments to see healthcare professionals at either site.
Many of the changes relate to improving efficiency of admin work that takes behind the scenes, for example they will have all patients on one system rather than each surgery having a separate system.
A video explaining the changes and why the action is being taken has been posted on the Manor House Surgery Glossop and Hadfield Facebook page.
Patients are being advised that there may be a few IT problems. The surgery is recommending Hadfield patients whose repeat prescriptions are due in between Friday 26th - Tuesday 30th November, to please order them by Wednesday 24th.
If anyone experiences problems with their online access they are asked to wait until 1st December and then contact reception.
