A meeting has been arranged for Glossopdale residents to share their concerns about their energy bills and keeping their homes warm this winter.
High Peak Green New Deal are inviting local residents to 'Pure Vibes' on Ebenezer Street on Sunday 18 September to share their concerns and find out about the campaign to get millions of homes properly insulated.
Everyone is welcome to attend between 1.30pm and 3pm, to enjoy tea and cakes and take part in the discussion. There will be activities for children too so no problem to bring them along.
"We are all worried about our bills and we need to get together with others in Glossop and the wider High Peak to demand the Government insulate our homes, to bring down our bills this winter," said Richard Leyshon, a spokesperson for the group.
“Part of the reason our bills are so high is because our homes leak so much energy, it doesn’t need to be this way.”

The group believe the Government should start a programme of emergency home upgrades.
“Measures like insulation of lofts and cavity walls could be done easily and save people up to £1,000 on their energy bill this year.”
The Green New Deal group is working with the Great Homes Upgrade and are part of a wider 'Warm This Winter' coalition which includes organisations such as Greenpeace, Oxfam, and the Women's Institute.
They will also be demanding much greater help for struggling families and small businesses and investment in renewable energy.
Local campaigners were out in Whitfield last Saturday chatting to people on their doorstops about the issue.
