Meeting to discuss Tintwistle Children's Gala ideas

A meeting is being held next week to discuss ideas for this year's Children's Gala in Tintwistle.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday 27 April at 6:30pm at Tintwistle Athletic FC's clubhouse, off West Drive.

The Gala itself will take place on Saturday 25 June from 12.30pm to 5pm.

The theme will be British / the Queen's Platinum Jubilee and there will be fancy dress, a dog show, a Bake Off, a tug of war, a raffle, child and adult races, face painting, a brass band playing and much more.

Organisers are looking for suggestions of more activities they can include on the day.

They’d also like contact details for any local groups who would like to do a performance in the arena area on the day.

More volunteers are also needed to help set up the night before, on the morning and with running the event.

If you are unable to make the meeting but have ideas you would like to put forward or offers of help, you can send a message to https://www.facebook.com/groups/71765201360

After it couldn't go ahead in 2020 due to coronavirus, the village's biggest annual event was back with a bang last year as around 1,500 people enjoyed some fun in the sun.

Thanks to the hard work of organisers Tintwistle Athletic, as well as so many other people and volunteers, the West Drive football fields were a hive of activity and full of smiles.
