Mobile breast screening services to visit High Peak

This summer will see the North Derbyshire Breast Screening services visiting four locations across the High Peak.

The schedule is subject to change, due to staff availability and uptake from local women.

The planned dates are 10 June to 17 August in Buxton, 23 May to 11 August in Chapel-en-le-Frith, 8 August in Hope, and New Mills on 19 August.

Women eligible for screening will be invited for appointments directly.

To catch up with the backlog of patients, North Derbyshire Breast Screening services are now screening at 160 per cent of pre-pandemic levels and new mammographers are being recruited.

The efforts of staff have been praised by High Peak MP Robert Largan. He said: “A huge thanks to local NHS staff for working so hard to bring this service back and catch up on the backlog.”
