Mobile speed cameras could be operating in Glossop and the rest of High Peak for the next few weeks.
Derbyshire Crest has just published a list of potential sites county-wide.
Those earmarked for our area where the vans could be set up are at: Glossop Road, Gamesley; Long Lane, Charlesworth; the A57 Snake Pass, Ladybower stretch; the A57 at Dinting Vale; the A623, Peak Forest; and A6, Dove Holes.
The cameras will operate at speed black spots and areas where traffic is a concern to the local community.
Derbyshire Crest (Casualty Reduction Enforcement Support Team) is not just looking for speeders.
The cameras also want to catch drivers using a mobile phone at the wheel and anyone in the vehicle not wearing a seat belt.
Train operator Northern will be helping racegoers gallop to the Grand National festival at Aintree this week, with extra trains running to get customers safely to the races and back home again.
On Friday night in front of a record local crowd of nearly 700, Glossop North End Community Club’s 1st team claimed its first “Open Age” silverware in dramatic fashion.
