
Glossop's heroes of the hills came to the aid of an injured man on the Pennine Way last weekend.
Glossop Mountain Rescue Team were called out at 6.40pm on Saturday (14 August) to help a man who had sustained a lower leg injury near to John Well Track, up Wildboar Grain.
A Glossop MRT spokesperson said: "Team members made their way to Glossop Low shooting cabin by Land Rover, from where they set off to the casualty's location. The casualty was quickly found and treated for a lower leg injury.
"He was then carried by stretcher back to the team's vehicle at Glossop Low, to be transported back to our base where he was met by members of his family, who took him to hospital for further treatment. The team stood down at 9.45pm."
