Glossop Mountain Rescue Team came to the aid of a family who became lost whilst walking on Bleaklow.
A spokesperson for the team said they were called out at around 6.25pm on Saturday (5 February) to assist the family of four, whose intention was to walk to the B-29 site and back to Snake Summit.
The family did not set off until 4pm, with fading light in poor weather, and no torch. They became lost before getting to the aircraft crash site, Glossop MRT said.
The team set off from Snake Summit and was quickly with the lost party. Following a quick assessment, they were walked back to their vehicle and the team stood down at around 7.25pm.
GMRT - which receives no direct government funding - is continuing to appeal for donations to help ensure its volunteers can continue to turn out day and night to rescue people in wild and remote places.
