New base opens for High Peak Foodbank

High Peak Foodbank.

The new base for Zinc and High Peak Foodbank is now open.

Based on Market Street Car Park, in Buxton, Zinc’s Employability and Advice Services have already moved to the new site.

Soon, Zink HQ will be opening a community Eco Café and providing a range of activities to get people together to learn, give, connect and be active.

There are lots of volunteering opportunities and for anyone interested in getting involved an information session on Tuesday 23rd November, at 12.30pm at Zink HQ.

They are looking for people to help in the foodbank, on reception, driving to deliver food parcels, cooking/baking/cleaning in the kitchen and serving in the café.

Anyone who would like to provide financial support to High Peak Foodbank at Zink can currently double their donation at www.crowdfunder.co.uk/high-peak-foodbank-at-zink

Every donation made via Crowdfunder, up to £250, will be matched pound for pound by the National Emergencies Trust.

Zinc has a new Chair of Trustees after Alan Thompson accepted the post replacing Andy McNeil. Helen White is Deputy Chair.

Both Alan and Helen have a wealth of experience gained from other community projects they are involved in that they are putting to good use at Zink.

Other new trustees include Charles Lawley, Councillor Linda Grooby and Stuart Corbett.

Liz Blundell a new Wellbeing Coordinator has joined the team at Zinc.

She will be setting up community activities for local people to get involved in including baking groups, school of rock, filming for Zink’s Youtube Channel, the Community Eco-Café and book exchange.

Anyone interested in getting involved in any of these should email liz@zink.org.uk
