Glossop Art Project's new hand-painted bench has been officially unveiled in Bankswood Park in Hadfield.
The wooden bench was made for the group by Glossop Furniture Project with funding from Derbyshire County Council and provides visitors to that area of the park with a place to sit, relax and just be.
High Peak Mayor and local councillor Ollie Cross said: “The new bench is a lovely addition to our local community and I'm grateful to have played a tiny part in helping to decorate it when I visited Glossop Arts Project's Hadfield Group a few months ago.”
He thanked all those who had been involved in the project that has been run in conjunction with local community group Bee Wild Glossopdale and Derbyshire County Council with further help in siting the new bench provided by High Peak Borough Council.
The mayor said: “Thank you once again to the entire GAP family for their creativity, commitment and tireless efforts whilst carrying out this amazing project. It has been a monumental effort by all involved.”
Glossop Arts Project is a community led organisation who help foster inclusivity and combat loneliness and social isolation.
