Efforts are being made to start a new group in Tintwistle to help celebrate and record the heritage of the area.
The initial proposal is to create a voluntary, not for profit association called the Tintwistle and Crowden Heritage and Treasures Association (TCHAT).
They are looking at a range of possible objectives including the creation of a local heritage trail, recording the industrial history of the area, collecting reminiscences from village, even developing a small museum.
The Start Up Group are holding a gathering for anyone who is interested in TCHAT on March 18 at 3.30pm in the Council Offices on Sexton Street – refreshments will be provided.
