High Peak's newly elected borough councillor Kev Kirkham has met with Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Councillor Kirkham was elected to represent Buxton's Cote Heath ward at a by-election held last month.
He was welcomed to parliament by local MP Robert Largan, and the pair then raised a number of local issues with the PM including the need to find a permanent solution at Hoffman Quarry, sometimes referred to as the ‘Blue Lagoon’.
Together, the pair also made the case for more police in Buxton to tackle antisocial behaviour, and for stronger mobile phone coverage in rural areas like Harpur Hill, Cowdale and King Sterndale.
