New Mills chippy crowned best SK22 takeaway

The Crispy Cod, in New Mills, has been crowned the best takeaway in SK22 in MP Robert Largan's High Peak Best Takeaway Awards.

Inspired by Marcus Rashford's campaigning on Free School Meals, David Small who runs the Crispy Cod offered a 'Marcus special' (a free portion of small sausage and chips) to all school children at lunchtime over October half-term last year.

The competition was launched by the MP earlier this year to find the best local takeaways across the High Peak. All independent takeaways were eligible, and winners from the remaining postcodes will be announced soon.
