New Mills is getting back to nature

Nurtures Nature weekend comes to New Mills this weekend as part of the New Mills Festival.

The Nurtures Nature will host a launch party on Saturday 7 May from 10am to midday in the Town Hall and on the Prom. There will be music, tea and cake and lots of stalls and activities with information and inspiration on how to re-wild your garden.

On the afternoon of 7 May, some local people have agreed to share details of their own wild patches. People will be shown how to create pollinators, providing nesting sites for birds, a wildlife pond, or a home for a hedgehog.

A booklet has been launched which includes details and a map showing all the gardens and public spaces that make up the trail, as well as details of the launch events which are taking place between 10am and noon on Saturday 7th at New Mills Town Hall and on the Prom and the guided tours which are taking place between 10am and noon on Sunday 8 May.
