When voters go to the polls next week in one area of Chapel, they will also be voting for three new members of the parish council.
On Thursday 6 May, all the seats on Derbyshire County Council are up for grabs, so too is the role of Derbyshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner.
While in Chapel West, voters will also be asked to elect three new parish councillors from four candidates.
The four independent candidates seeking election are Michael Brian Barton, David Tony Benning, Alistair Nigel Beswick and Nick Hill.
In the Barren Clough, Combs and Whitehough ward Mike Chantler has been elected unopposed to the parish council.
The vacancies arose after eight members of the council resigned.
There are also vacancies for two councillors to represent the Chapel East ward and two for Dove Holes and Martinside.
