The new season of films from Peak Film Society opens on Saturday 17 September with a screening of Kenneth Branagh's Belfast.
It is the sixth collaboration between Dame Judi Dench and Kenneth Branagh and is based on true events during Branagh’s childhood growing up in Dublin at the time of “the troubles” in Northern Ireland.
The Oscar-winning film is being shown at the Partington Theatre in Glossop at 7.30pm with doors opening at 7pm.

The volunteers who run the film society will be screening a host of films during the season including The Duke starring Jim Broadbent, Helen Mirren and James Wilby on Saturday 12 November and The Muppets Christmas Carol on Friday 9 December.
