Glossop-based Haywill Animal Rescue and Therapy Centre have signed a lease for the stables at the Etherow Centre Charitable Trust in Broadbottom.
Haywill, which is run by Lynn Haydon-Williams, have been working with animals in Glossop for more than 30 years, and more recently have developed Animal Assisted Therapy.
They work with people with special needs, mental health issues, disabilities and behavioural difficulties – but needed larger facilities.
A spokesperson for the Etherow Centre said: “We are delighted to announce a new occupier for the stables.
“Lynn Haydon-Williams dropped by to sign the letting agreement and pick up the keys - everything was conducted at a suitable physical distance!”
The rescue centre, in addition to their new stables, will still use the site at Glossop.
The post added: “We will be working to raise money to repair the roof and outdoor manège.”
