Nostalgia: Athletes making their mark in Glossop

Glossop was the proud home of some sensational athletes 30 years ago.

Stephen Hough’s muscles rippled when he took part in a regional heat of the UK Body Building Championships early in January, 1990.

Steve, from Spire Hollin, Glossop, seen striking a pose in this Chronicle shot, qualified to go through to the next round.

Another Glossop athlete making his mark 30 years ago was Justin Yates, seen here in particular fight mode.

The Glossop Martial Arts Club star was appearing in a Sky televised mixed martial arts show which promised to give him national prominence.

If you know how Justin or Steve went on, please get in touch.
