Nostalgia: Proud procession through Glossop

Dressed in their best clothes and parading proudly past Glossop Town Hall is a happy group of boys smiling for the camera, while in the background some equally well-turned out adults look on.

Hats must have been popular at the time judging from the range of cloth caps, straw boaters, the odd bowler and the high-fashion ones worn by the women.

In well-polished shoes and starched collars, the boys were obviously dressed for something special and it’s noticeable that there were no girls in the parade through the centre of town.

This picture must have been taken around a century ago. If you have any further information, please get in touch with us here: https://www.questmedianetwork.co.uk/contact-us/. Thank you.
