Nostalgia: When Chisworth were champions

Chisworth Champions!

Chisworth is as small now as when this picture of the village football team was taken 90 years ago. But in 1931 it certainly had a great little football club!

In just one season the lads won the Hyde Federation First Division and medals competition and walked off with the Reporter Cup, Stansfield Cup and the Derbyshire Medals.

Left to right on the back row are J Lawton, J Braddock, M Moran, E White, H Ball, C Fenton, H Waterhouse, D Johnson  (trainer). Front row (left to right): J Wild, T Cox, C Rowbottom, W Broadhurst and J McVey.
