Pantomime auditions in Glossop open to everyone

It's that time of year again (oh no, it isn't, oh yes it is!) for theatres to turn their attention to the panto season and Partington Players Theatre is no exception.

They will be bringing the pantomime Rumpelstiltskin to the stage from November 26 until December 4.

An audition/get together to cast the adult principal characters will take place on Thursday, July 22, at 7.30pm at Partington Theatre Club Room.

The producers would like to gather everyone interested in being a principal in the pantomime to do a reading and are asked to email James Done on doneanddustedpantomimes@hotmail.com for a digital copy of the script.

It is not just the adults who can get in on the act but young performers as well, with places in the chorus available.

The auditions for children to become part of the chorus will take place on August 1 at 2pm.

If you are interested, please email the team at doneanddustedpantomimes@hotmail.com.

  • The signs they are a changin'

It was the end of an era at Whitfield Community Centre this week as the old Derbyshire County Council signage was removed to make way for new ones. Whitfield Together, the group that bought the Centre for the community, is refreshing the Centre's image. Its new logo will soon go up on the front of the building. Gerry Dominey told us, "It seemed like a significant moment when we took the sign down. It was as if we were saying that the Centre is ours now and we can put our paw print on it. And that felt good."
