From the stage door to the amazing props, costumes and everything in between, it’s an access-all-areas invitation.
Despite being in the heart of Glossop for more than 60 years, Partington Theatre remains on the "must visit" list for some. Saturday’s open day is an opportunity to dispel any mystery about what goes on in that gothic building at the top of Norfolk Square.
Zoe Bowers, theatre administrator, said: "Those that know us, love us. We receive a lot of support from the public, as both customers and volunteers. Being a true community space, we want to offer our services to a wider audience and hopefully welcome more people into the Partington family. Our open day is an opportunity to do that in a fun and interactive way.
"Tread the boards on stage, test your vocals in the stairwell (the acoustics are brilliant on the back stairs!) or even try out every one of the 119 seats in the auditorium to find which is the most comfortable."
The archive collection will be open to view, and the entire props collection will be on show, alongside a vast wardrobe of beautiful costumes.
The doors will be open to everyone from 11am to 3pm.
