A Police Community Support Officer who has covered several areas of the High Peak has completed her last day in the job before moving on to pastures new.
PCSO 4494 Sarah Walsh was one of the first PCSOs to be employed by Derbyshire Constabulary 17 years ago, when she originally started on the beat in New Mills and Hayfield.
She then transferred over to the Glossop town centre team and for the last two years was a member of the Glossop Youth Engagement Team, which involved engaging with and working with schools and young people in the Glossop and New Mills areas.
A spokesperson for Glossop Police Safer Neighbourhood Team said: "So, after 17 years, she has booked off duty for the last time [gone state 11].
"Glossop SNT/Buxton SNT [Safer Neighbourhood Teams] and our colleagues in the LPU [Local Policing Units] in the High Peak would like to wish her and her family well.
"All the very best and good luck for the future.
Well done Walshy [Sarah] - we'll miss you and you'll not be forgotten by those you helped/advised and dealt with over the years [It’s gone quick] – there’s some wonderful memories to look back on."
