A petition signed by hundreds of Hayfield residents has been presented to Parliament.
Organised by Councillor Eva Lawson, the petition is calling for an additional post box for the village.
Residents currently rely on the post box inside the post office, and when the post office is closed, have to cross the busy A624 to access any other post box, causing difficulties for the elderly, disabled and families with small children.
High Peak MP Robert Largan, who presented a petition in the House of Commons, has also written to Royal Mail to formally request an additional post box.
The local MP said: “I have been disappointed by Royal Mail’s dismissive responses to date.
“I have now written again to Royal Mail and invited them to visit the village to meet with Eva and I, so that we can make the case for a new post box in person.”
