Petition to show support for Lantern Procession in New Mills

The Lantern Procession in 2019.

A petition has been launched to show support for New Mills Festival's popular Lantern Procession.

Although the Festival returned last year after an enforced break due to the Covid pandemic, the Lantern Procession was unable to go ahead.

Organisers have launched the petition to 'Relight the Lanterns' which could help ensure the popular Lantern Procession returns.

The petition will be used in support of grant applications to help with funding and will help convince key decision makers of the value that the Lantern Procession and the entire New Mills Festival provides.

Anyone who would like to add their support to the campaign can do so at https://www.change.org/p/save-the-new-mills-lantern-procession

So far, more than 750 have given their support to the community-run event through the petition.
