A photo competition held by Chapel Camera Club has been a great success - not only featuring stunning images, but also helping raise funds for a local charity.  

Three worthy winners were selected by celebrated local photographer Justin Garner and a proportion of the entry fees has been donated to Blythe House Hospicecare. 

The donation will help to support those within the local community with life limiting illnesses and their families. 

Sarah Lind took the first prize with her black and white photograph of her husband and young daughter (pictured below). 

Sarah said: "It's the first photography competition I've ever entered! It was a great cause whether I won or not, so to win was just a lovely bonus."  

Richard Bell took second prize with his image of Art Deco Plaza Theatre in Stockport (pictured below). 

“I wanted to capture the mood of the damp, dark conditions along with the nostalgia associated with buildings of this type," Richard said. 

Third place went to Garry Platt with his photograph of the Taiwanese B Dance group, taken at The Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2019 (pictured below).

Garry said: “It was about the third time I had seen the show but this was by far and away the best image I managed to capture."  

The winning photographs will be part of Chapel Camera Club’s exhibition ‘Twenty Twenty and beyond’ taking place at Buxton Museum and Art Gallery from 5 March – 3 May 2022.  

The exhibition will show work done during the past two years, in collaboration with Buxton Museum and Art Gallery and The Arts Council.
