Plans to improve access to Hadfield Library have been given the go-ahead by High Peak Borough Council.
The proposals will see existing lower first floor extension removed and a two-storey extension built to serve both the ground and first floors of the building that is located at the junction of Railway Street and Station Road in Hadfield.
Accessed from Railway Street the new addition will include a lift and provide universal access to both the Library and Upper Hall on the first floor.
The move has been welcomed and supported by High Peak Access Group as the move will open up what is seen as an important community facility to all sectors of the community.
