Plans at brewery moving forward

An Old Glossop brewery can raise a glass after being given planning permission to extend its range of facilities.

Howard Town Brewery, based in Hawkshead Mill, have been granted full permission for development by High Peak Borough Council.

Planners have approved a change of use application for the Hope Street brewery.

It will see a unit changed from general industrial use to a 'Sui Generis' - a brewery shop with ancillary tasting room and the provision of bar snacks.

The brewery said in a statement on Facebook: "Today we can finally call our little tasting room a Brewery Tap. We can say we have a shop and we can start to move forward."
