Plans for a holiday lodge complex to be built on the outskirts of Glossop have been put forward to High Peak Borough Council.

Unique Holiday Stays Ltd have submitted the proposals for 15 luxury tourist lodges to be installed on a 1.2-hectare site at The Stables, The Heath, Glossop.

As well as the wooden-clad lodges, the plans also include an associated reception building, two access roads, and landscaping.

In documents submitted in support of the application it states: “There will be 16 full time staff employed to manage the site on a shift basis to ensure 24-hour site management.”

The applicants state the site is a sustainable location with good access to the centre of Glossop and wider transport networks.

Supporting documents highlight an ongoing need for not only additional visitor accommodation but also an improvement in the quality available as current demand outstrips supply.

The applicant says the bespoke lodges being proposed at The Heath will assist in addressing the need for additional accommodation and would benefit the local area.

The application is available to view on the High Peak Borough Council website.
