Plans for telecommunications mast in Gamesley

An 18-metre-high telecommunications mast could be installed in Gamesley after a planning application was submitted.

The proposal by CK Hutchison Networks (UK) Ltd is for a mast, wrap around cabinet and associated works on land between the footpath and the road at the corner of Castleton Crescent, Melandra Castle Road and Glossop Road.

The new equipment is part of the roll out of 5G for the Three network.

While some existing sites can be upgraded, additional new sites are also needed.

In supporting documents, the firm states that options for siting the new mast are extremely limited and the only viable solution that minimises amenity issues has been put forward.

The plans are available to view on the council’s website www.highpeak.gov.uk
