Plans are gathering pace for this year's Glossop Carnival weekend, which is taking place at Manor Park on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 July.

Organisers have been hard at work behind the scenes preparing for the popular event.

Regent Big Band will be providing musical entertainment on the Saturday and Arnfield Brass will be playing Bavarian music on the Sunday. Local dance school Centre Stage will be performing on both days.

And this week, organisers have revealed that a children's entertainer will be making a welcome return.

After proving to be so popular last year, they will be in the park all weekend keeping children entertained with circus skills that are free to attend.

More details of what is being planned will be revealed over the next few weeks, with organisers keen to ensure there is something for everyone.

They are currently taking bookings for craft and charity stalls.
