Plans have been submitted to use four former crew houses to provide welfare and administration facilities for firefighters in Glossop.
The application is for a temporary change of use for the buildings to ensure facilities are provided for fire crews while construction work is carried out on the site to build a new fire station.
Also included in the application are plans for a temporary garage for the two fire appliances.
The plans are available to view on the council’s website at www.highpeak.gov.uk
As we reported recently, a separate application for the new fire station and smoke training building has been submitted by Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service.
This is because the existing building at Whitfield Park is 50 years old and is viewed as outdated and no longer fit for purpose.
