Up to 120 jobs could be created if McDonald's is given the go-ahead to open a new restaurant in the centre of Buxton.
Plans have been submitted for a new restaurant and drive thru on the site of the Aldi supermarket on Station Road, in what the fast-food giant has described as a multi-million pound investment.
In documents put forward in support of the application, McDonald's say the new restaurant would provide 30 full time and 90 part time roles.
The centrally-located Station Road site will be available for redevelopment as Aldi will be building a new larger replacement supermarket to be built on the A515 at Harpur Hill, after planning permission for the development was granted earlier this year.

The application proposes demolishing the current supermarket and replacing it with a freestanding restaurant with drive-thru facility and includes details on car parking, landscaping, and associated works, including Customer Order Displays (COD) and play frame.
Further separate applications have also been made regarding signage.
The plans are available to view on the borough council’s website at www.highpeak.gov.uk
The council website stated the closing date for the public to comment on the application is 25 August.
