Proposals have been submitted for a new electricity substation to be built in New Mills.
Documents submitted to High Peak Borough Council as part of the application state the new substation is required to provide enhanced security of supply to New Mills residents and businesses.
Electricity North West Ltd who have submitted the plans say the new facility will act as a vital component of the local electricity infrastructure.
If approved, the new substation would be built next to the existing facility on land off Grove Street, owned by Swizzels Matlow.
The plans are available to view on the council’s website at www.highpeak.gov.uk
