Planning permission has been granted for the redevelopment of the former Mount Pleasant Chapel at Spring Bank in New Mills that saw much of the original building destroyed by fire.
Under the proposals approved by High Peak Borough Council, the ruined chapel will be converted to Class E Business use on the ground floor with the creation of two dwellings on the ground and first floor.
As well as construction there will be some demolition on the site including unsafe elements of structure such as the remains of the existing roof, rear chimney, and the top of the walls to the rear Sunday school building.
The plans are available to view on the council’s website at www.highpeak.gov.uk.
