A new Poetry Platform display has gone up at Glossop train station and it's celebrating the opening this year of England's Coastal Path.
Neil Williams, chair of the station’s friends’ group which organised the display, said: “The poems have been chosen by Penny Greenwood and Paul Marsh.
"Paul has also designed the display. They include Smooth between Sea and Land by AE Houseman, Sea Fever by John Masefield and Dover Beach by Matthew Arnold.
“Of particular interest is a new poem - Nation’s Ode to the Coast - by contemporary poet John Cooper-Clarke commissioned by the National Trust to mark the special affection felt by people towards the sea and its coastline.
“Friends of Glossop Station has been given special permission by the Trust to feature this poem.”
With Covid-19 restrictions easing, the group hopes this display may encourage people to visit their favourite coastlines once again.
