Police appeal after serious assault near Glossop taxi rank

The taxi rank on Norfolk Street in Glossop town centre.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a male was seriously assaulted near the taxi rank in Glossop town centre in the early hours of the morning.

Glossop Police Safer Neighbourhood Team say the attack happened at around 3.20am on Sunday 26 June on Norfolk Street. 

It is believed the alleged attacker, believed to be male, approached the taxi rank from the opposite of the road and then left the scene in a taxi after the incident. 

Anyone with information, CCTV or dash cam footage from around that time and location is asked to get in touch with police by reporting it online at https://www.derbyshire.police.uk or calling 101, quoting occurrence reference 22*402788 and officer in the case PC 14530 Maunsell.
