
Police in the High Peak are investigating after receiving a report of an alleged assault in New Mills.
It happened at around 9.30pm on Sunday 24 October on Albion Road.
The alleged offender was found asleep in the victim's car and, when asked to leave, has then punched and strangled the victim before walking off up Union Road.
The offender is described as being a white man in his 30s, wearing a grey blazer and black trousers, and is described as having short blonde hair.
Police are appealing for anyone with information, CCTV or dash cam footage from the area at the relevant time to get in touch via the contact methods below, for the attention of PC 14264 Cox.
