Police are investigating after a fire, believed to have been started deliberately, in woodland in Glossop caused a small explosion.
Firefighters from Glossop Fire Station were called to a section of woodland at the back of Whitfield House on Tuesday (22 February) at around 5pm.
It followed a report of a 'small deliberate' fire where school books, a plastic bucket and at least two aerosol cans had been used, resulting in a small explosion.
Glossop Police Safer Neighbourhood Team has said it is believed that a group of young people were seen in the vicinity, but no other description has been provided at this stage.
