Police in Buxton are urging residents to be vigilant after receiving reports of overnight break-ins to sheds and garages.
Buxton Police Safer Neighbourhood Team has issued the warning after the incidents in and around the area of Lightwood Road and Brown Edge Road.
They are appealing for anyone with CCTV footage in the area, or anyone who has any information, to get in touch by calling 101.
Officers were able to reunite one owner with his bike with the help of local residents.
But they are encouraging people to make sure that their outbuildings are secure and, if possible, keep expensive bikes out of sight or in the house.
