Police in Glossopdale are again warning parents that they could be fined for their children breaking lockdown rules, after a group of around 15 young people were reported gathering in Glossop town centre on Saturday evening (6 February).
Seven of them were from the Hattersley and Hyde areas, police have said.
There were also reports on social media that a group of young people were seen jumping out in front of cars near the roundabout at the bottom of Simmondley Lane, and kicking violently at doors in the Dinting area.
Glossop Police's Safer Neighbourhood Team say around eight members of the group were located, "spoken to" and are "now aware of the potential consequences of their gathering" regarding breaching Covid-19 lockdown regulations.
Two of the group were 14-year-old girls who were taken home by officers and "spoken to" in front of their parents.
In a warning to parents and carers, they added: "Parents, ensure you know where your children are and what they are doing.
"It is you as parents that will pay any fines for their breaches. Remember to stay safe and stick to the rules."
Police are asking anyone with CCTV cameras to use them if they are subjected to ongoing issues, try to get descriptions of anyone seen but refrain from chasing or remonstrating with any youths.
