Network Rail is planning on carrying out a stabilisation scheme at a railway cutting near Barmoor Clough Tunnel.
The company has made a planning application to High Peak Borough Council for a range of work.
Included is the ‘re-profiling’ of a slope and drainage installation.
Network Rail say the work proposed is due to the general state of the cutting at Higher Hallsteads, Dove Holes.
Without it, there is risk of spoil being pushed onto the line.
Getting the work done would reduce the risk of flooding and train delays.
