Raising the roof

They could be adding a roof within a roof at Torr Vale Mill in New Mills.

High Peak Borough Council has received a planning application for a project at the listed five storey Torrvale Road building.

It’s on the erection of a fully designed high level scaffold and temporary roof within the cotton mill at fifth floor level.

It is for the purpose of re-roofing works including slate roof pitches, patent glazing, repairs, grit blasting and painting of cast iron gutters, with new linings and structural repairs to timber and masonry.
