After 21 years helping schoolchildren cross a busy Glossop road, Sue Purvin was given a fitting send-off to mark her retirement.
In addition to cards and gifts from staff and pupils at Saint Mary’s Catholic Voluntary Academy, Sue was given a guard of honour.
Paul Ackers, Executive Head teacher, said Sue has always had a quick a smile and kind word for everyone and could be relied upon in all weathers.
He said: “Things won't be the same without her and she will be very much missed.”
Over the years, Sue has helped hundreds of children and their parents safely cross Gladstone Street.
Happy retirement Sue.
