Revised dates for festive High Peak bin collections

Bin collection dates will change for most High Peak households over the festive period, with residents being urged to check their revised days.

Green bin collections will stop altogether between Monday December 23 and Friday January 3, with general waste and recycling pick-ups continuing on different days to normal.

The temporary changes are:

General Waste collection:

  • Wednesday December 25 will instead be collected on Monday December 23

  • Thursday December 26 --- Tuesday December 24

  • Friday December 27 --- no change

  • Tuesday December 31 --- Monday December 30

  • Wednesday January 1 --- Tuesday December 31

Recycling collection:

  • Wednesday December 25 will instead be collected on Friday December 27

  • Thursday December 26 --- Friday December 27

  • Friday December 27 ---Monday December 30

  • Monday December 30 --- Tuesday Decdember 31

  • Wednesday January 1 --- Thursday January 2

Collection dates will revert to their regular days in the first full week of the New Year.

Tips in Derbyshire, including those at Glossop and Buxton, now need prior registration to use.

Derbyshire County Council say that only allowing the county’s residents to use the household waste recycling centres could save £800,000 per year.

All of Derbyshire’s tips open between 9:30am-5pm every day apart from Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
