Changes to properties in Glossop refused

Applications to extend two properties Glossop Brook View in Glossop by building living accommodation on balconies have been turned down by planners.

Concerns that the proposal would lead to overlooking and loss of privacy at neighbouring properties was one of the grounds for refusal.

Planners also determined that the siting, elevated height, and design would harm the character and appearance of the building itself and the Conservation Area in which it is set.

The homeowners at both number 12 and number 11 had wanted to extend their living accommodation by incorporating part of the balconies at the properties.
