Refused house plans
Plans for an agricultural building to be converted into a three bedroomed single storey home have been rejected by High Peak Borough Council.
The proposals for a building at Stubbins Farm in Chinley were turned down as rather than a conversion the proposed demolition and construction meant it was effectively a rebuild.
Planners also said the design and external appearance that would be harmful to the character of the rural landscape.
Chinley, Buxworth and Brownside Parish Council had also raised objections to the proposals on the grounds that the scale, materials, and design were inappropriate for conversion to a domestic dwelling and would be harmful to the character and appearance of the local area.
Improved access planned for Hadfield Hall
The Friends of Hadfield Hall have submitted plans to improve access to the building located on Station Road in Hadfield.
In the proposals submitted to High Peak Borough Council a new extension would be built to house a lift to provide access to the Library and the Upper Hall on the first floor.
The application is a resubmission of a lapsed permission for the site approved in 2019.
The plans are available to view on the council’s website at www.highpeak.gov.uk
